New for 2022
The 2022 lineup includes the new Trailer Boss Package. This off-road package adds features to the LT and Z71. The Trailer Boss lifts the suspension by an inch, adds skid plates underneath the vehicle, red tow hooks, and black 17-inch rims.
Performance
The Colorado is a powerful midsize pickup with three engines. The base level 2.5L 4-cylinder engine produces 200 HP, 191 lb-ft of torque, and has enough power to handle your day-to-day. There’s also a 3.6L DOHC V6 that delivers 308 horsepower and 275 lb.-ft. of torque. With up to 7,000-lb. max towing, the V6 has the power you need to haul a boat or trailer.
The Duramax 2.8L Turbo-Diesel offers 181 horsepower and 369 lb.-ft. of torque. The maximum towing is 7,700 lb. Known for its durability, the Duramax engine can easily power up inclines and haul campers. Diesel engines are also more efficient, using less gas on the highway without sacrificing power.
Trim Levels
The Colorado is a popular truck with a range of features. There are several trim levels, so you can choose based on your needs and budget. The Colorado has four trims: the WT (Work Truck), the popular LT, the sporty Z71, and the off-road ZR2.
The top-of-the-line ZR2 is unique with a set of exclusive features. The wide body and bold styling of the ZR2 include features like electronic locking differentials on both axles and spool-valve shocks. This off-road version of the Colorado is only available with 4WD and contains a 3.5-inch wider track, skid plates, a 2-inch suspension lift, and all-terrain tires.
Towing
The Colorado can tow up to 7000 pounds with the V6 engine and the trailering kit. The diesel engine can tow up to 7700 pounds. The base engine tows up to 3500 pounds. Safety features like trailer sway control are standard on all models.
Spacious Interior & Cargo
The Colorado feels like a full-size truck with a spacious interior. The extended cab seats four, while the standard crew cab seats five passengers. There’s a large console bin and a huge compartment under the rear seat for storage.
Carrying cargo is no problem for the Colorado. There are two cab options: a 41 cubic foot short box and a massive 50 cubic foot long box. These are best in class compared with their competitors.
Technology
