LS

The entry-level LS model is perfect if you’re looking for something affordable with all the basics. It features a 1.2L turbo three-cylinder engine that produces 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed automatic comes standard with front-wheel drive, allowing the Trax to achieve 28 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway. The standard safety package offers tech such as automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, and a following distance indicator.

The cabin is roomy and comfortable, with 41.9 inches of front legroom, 38.1 inches of rear legroom, and 25.6 cubic feet of cargo volume. The rear seats can be folded down to increase the cargo space to 54.1 cubic feet. You’ll find cloth seats, two USB ports, and an 8-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The LS also includes a Wi-Fi hotspot, a four-speaker stereo, cruise control, and a rearview camera.

1RS

The 1RS features sporty styling, black exterior accents, heated mirrors, and an exclusive RS badge. It also replaces the standard 17-inch rims with black 18-inch ones for a sportier look. The unique style continues inside, with a heated, flat-bottom steering wheel and optional sport pedals. Heated front seats come standard, and a power sunroof is available, along with safety add-ons like blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and parking sensors.

LT

The LT adds roof rails for a bolder look and comes standard with 17-inch wheels. Cloth and Evotex-trimmed seats give the cabin a more upscale feel. This model also upgrades to automatic climate control and adds two USB ports for the rear passengers. Tech gets a major upgrade, with an 8-inch instrument panel, a six-speaker stereo, and an 11-inch touchscreen infotainment display with all the same features as the standard system.

2RS

If the sportier Trax is more your style, the 2RS is the more premium model. It upgrades the 1RS with cushy Evotex seats, automatic climate control, and an 8-way power driver’s seat. You’ll also find all the tech upgrades that come standard on the LT. Adaptive cruise control and wireless charging are both offered as options.

ACTIV

The top-spec ACTIV trim comes standard with niceties like Evotex seats, heated front seats, automatic climate control, a heated steering wheel, and an 8-way power driver’s seat. You’ll also get all the premium tech in the lineup, plus available options like wireless charging, a power sunroof, and exclusive interior colors.
