Drive on Over: 3 Fun Places to Visit Near St. Louis, MO

1. The St. Louis Wheel

Not only is riding this 200-foot-high Ferris wheel fun, but the views will blow your mind. We highly recommend riding the wheel at night and seeing the city lights. Plus, you’ll have a nice view of the famous St. Louis Arch. The wheel has 42 enclosed compartments, each holding up to eight people. You’ll have a 15-minute ride, and you can purchase tickets online.

The cost is between $15 and $17 for those ages 13 and up and $10 to $12 for ages 3 to 12. Kids 2 and under get in for free. Or, if you’re feeling extra adventurous, choose the VIP gondola, which has a glass floor. The cost is more, but totally worth it. The wheel is located at 201 S. 18th St. and it is open every day.

2. St. Louis Escape

This escape room has been called one of the best in the world. It boasts seven rooms, including the Haunted Hotel, Jurassic Island, Wonderful Wizard of Oz, and Blackbeard’s Revenge. They also have a large arcade room and blacklight mini golf. The escape rooms cost $30 per person and the mini golf is $14. Visit their website to book your reservations. All of the escape rooms are private, so you can bring your group of friends for a great time.

3. The Gateway Arch

You can’t visit St. Louis without riding the famous Arch, which is the tallest monument in the country. At 630 feet, you’ll have amazing views where you can see up to 30 miles in each direction. You’ll also learn a little history along the way. When your ride is done, visit the museum. We highly recommend that you make reservations ahead of time as they are usually very busy, especially in the spring and summer.
