Pack the Car and Check Out These 3 Favorite Picnic Spots Near St. Louis, MO

1. Forest Park

With 1,300 acres of beautiful landscapes to explore, it should be no surprise that Forest Park is a picnic favorite for many. This place is so dedicated to the cause that it even has its own Picnic Island! Picnic Island is a perfect place to scope out if you are looking to have a casual, informal picnic. There are no traditional picnic tables, so don’t forget to bring a blanket with you! If you are in the mood to picnic in a more formal setting, you can rent a private table by getting in touch with Forest Park via phone.

2. Carondelet Park

If you’re in the mood for a more secluded area, Carondelet Park is the place to be. This place houses numerous fields, lakes, and trails to explore. With several baseball fields, softball fields, and tennis courts, this is a great place for sports enthusiasts to hang out. There are three official picnic pavilions to choose from to enjoy your meal. Weekday rentals are $50, while weekend rentals are $80. Keep in mind that these prices are only for the pavilions- you don’t have to worry about paying if you just want to pitch a blanket somewhere in the park.

3. Missouri Botanical Gardens

Missouri Botanical Gardens is a great place to enjoy incredible views. With over 20 gardens to explore, this is the perfect place to stay if you are a fan of all things flowers. While there is no designated picnic area, there are plenty of open areas to choose from. After you feed yourself you can also feed the koi fish in the pond! Admission into the gardens is $14 for non-residents and $6 for residents.

4. Taylor Park

Taylor Park, though small in size, will leave a huge impression on your heart. Known by some as a meditation park, this place is a great choice if you prefer to enjoy your meals in peace. With a tiered fountain in the middle, you can feast to the sound of water trickling down in the background. Since this park lacks grass, we would recommend skipping the blanket and opting for a picnic table instead.
