By now, the Chevy Silverado has cemented itself as a legendary truck that can haul a truly mystifying payload. The 2023 Chevy Silverado 3500 is a remarkable truck with one of the strongest powertrains on the market. Whether you want a work truck or a truck capable of hauling an RV easily, the Silverado 3500 is the truck for you.

At a Glance: The 2023 Chevy Silverado 3500

Towing and trailering are the bread and butter of the Silverado 3500. When drivers opt for the Duramax 6.6-liter V8 engine, the maximum trailering capacity is up to 30,000 lbs. Features such as the Multi-Flex tailgate with adjustable functions can help you load, unload, and trailer your payload easier than ever before. The Advanced Trailering System has an in-vehicle app that makes towing much safer, too.

Engines

There are two engine options available for the Silverado 3500. The standard engine is a 6.6-liter V8 gas engine with a six-speed transmission, which can generate up to 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque. The second engine is a diesel-fueled Duramax 6.6-liter turbo-diesel V8 engine with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The diesel engine has a horsepower of 445 and 910 lb-ft of torque.

Trims

The Silverado 3500 has four trim levels to choose from, including the WT, LT, LTZ, and High Country. The base WT model has a standard Durabed with 12 tie-downs, integrated BedSteps and CornerStep, and a rear vision camera. The durable cabin space is accented with vinyl or cloth seats with a vinyl floor for easy cleaning.
For the LT model, the EZ Lift tailgate, eight-inch color touchscreen display, and available upgrades like 20-inch aluminum wheels boost the custom feel of the truck. The LTZ model has many more special features that come standard, such as LED headlamps, Hitch Guidance with Hitch View, and keyless open and start. The highest trim, High Country, ramps up the luxury of the truck with 20-inch polished wheels, LED lighting for the cargo area, and premium surround sound speakers.

Cab Models

For the Silverado 3500, there are a few cab models available including the regular cab long bed, double cab long bed, crew cab standard bed, and the crew cab long bed. Not all trims support every cab model, but drivers will certainly be able to find a cab model and trailer weight rating to suit their lifestyle and work demands.
For drivers who want to enjoy a comfortable everyday truck that can also double as a work vehicle, the Silverado 3500 is an ideal truck. As one of Chevrolet’s hardest-working trucks, drivers can expect unparalleled towing and trailering capabilities from this truck.
