Understanding the Trim Levels of the 2025 Chevy Colorado: Build Your Perfect Truck

The 2025 Chevy Colorado is a mid-size pickup that comes in five capable trims: WT, LT, Trail Boss, Z71, and ZR2. Each trim is designed to meet different needs in performance and comfort. Let’s explore how each trim differs from the rest.

Understanding the Trim Levels of the 2025 Chevy Colorado: Build Your Perfect Truck

Work Truck (WT)

Under the hood of the WT trim (and every other trim) is the 2.7L TurboMax engine that produces 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque, and is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The WT trim has a crew cab configuration that seats five (which is the standard setup for all trims), and offers basic work-focused features such as cloth upholstery and manual seat adjustments. It rides on all-season tires wrapped around 17-inch Ultra Silver Metallic wheels.

LT

The LT trim is standard rear-wheel drive, though four-wheel drive is available. On the outside, it adds a chrome grille surround, a built-in tailgate storage compartment, and 17-inch Argent Metallic aluminum wheels. On the inside, it offers power-adjustable front seats and standard push-button start with keyless entry. It includes an 11.3-inch infotainment touchscreen (which is central to all models), offering wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Trail Boss

The rugged Trail Boss trim meets demanding off-road needs, with standard 4WD, a 2-inch factory lift, off-road tuned suspension, skid plates, two-speed transfer case, and automatic lock rear differential. It rides on 32-inch all terrain tires that are mounted on 18-inch black wheels. The Trail Boss’ rugged capabilities are matched by its rugged, blacked-out appearance and red recovery hooks.

Z71

The Z71 trim includes both rugged capabilities and premium comforts. Like Trail Boss, it’s standard 4WD with a two-speed transfer case, automatic locking rear differential, and beefed-up 32-inch tires. However, unlike Trail Boss, it offers standard heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, ambient interior lighting, and available leatherette upholstery. It includes a trim-specific grille and Z71 badging.

ZR2

The top-spec ZR2 is like the Trail Boss on steroids. It features Multimatic DSSV dampers, front and rear electronic locking differentials, a 3-inch factory lift, five selectable drive modes, and 33-inch all terrain tires on exclusive 17-inch wheels. Tow hooks are included in both the front and the rear. The cabin is available with genuine leather upholstery and a premium Bose audio system. A wireless charging pad is included as standard equipment.

Although all five trims of the Chevy Colorado have the same underlying powertrain, infotainment system, and bed/cab configuration, they each serve different needs. Whether it’s the work-focused necessities of the WT trim that appeal to you, or the masterful off-roading gear of the ZR2, there’s a Colorado model that is calling your name.
